Lisa Taylor, one of the accused "Mansion Madams," was scheduled for a court appearance on drug charges on Sunday morning, but did not attend court. She was arrested Friday night in Gwinnett County.
Taylor, currently in the medical unit of the Gwinnett County Jail, was represented by her attorney, Max Richardson. A meeting at the jail was scheduled for later Sunday for her to meet with the magistrate judge hearing her case.
Richardson asked the judge to grant bond for Taylor, but he did not do so.
During the hearing, Richardson also told the judge he wanted to raise the issue of the jail staff cutting Taylor's hair. He said the jail medical team wanted to cut her hair, but because Taylor is an entertainer, she had serious concerns about that. Richardson asked for an order preventing Taylor's hair from being cut by the jail staff. The judge said that, during Sunday's meeting, he would speak to the medical unit about why they wanted to cut Taylor's hair and then decide whether or not to issue the order requested by Reichardson.
Taylor's next hearing is set for Wednesday October 3, although the judge has said he would like to see that hearing moved up.
In August, Taylor, along with Nicole Probert, pleaded not guilty to charges of prostitution and racketeering, as well as drug charges. The two women, known as the "Mansion Madams," claimed they were exotic dancers selling fantasies ? but not sex. Taylor was believed to be the ringleader of the operation. She has performed under the stage name Melissa Wolf, and is a former Penthouse Pet of the Month. Both Taylor and Probert were arrested in January. Police said they believe Taylor's operation was based out of her Gwinnett County home in the Sugarloaf area.
The new charges against Taylor include the sale, distribution, or possession of dangerous drugs. Richardson said Taylor was a passenger in a vehicle driven by a male friend. They had just left his apartment when a Gwinnett County officer pulled them over for weaving.
Police said they found prescription drugs and cocaine inside the vehicle.
