ATLANTA -- It's a trend becoming more popular these days -- getting community help and support through social networking sites.
One local man has earned the nickname as the "Facebook Pastor," after a successful toy drive using the Web site.
A church congregation in southwest Atlanta has been able to gather 500 toys youngsters at a school they have adopted. They used Facebook, Twitter and other social networking tools to gather the toys from donors in 22 states.
The Courageous Church and their pastor, 29-year-old Morehouse graduate Shaun King spent Monday wrapping the 500 presents that they will give to 500 youngsters during a holiday celebration at Frank Stanton Elementary in southwest Atlanta on Tuesday.
King said that household budgets as lean as city budgets -- speaking of the city of Atlanta's budget shortfall -- and that they can put a smile on these kids' faces as they live through some of the tough times.
