McDONOUGH, GA-- After watching a story about a Metro Atlanta woman suspected of scamming businesses by posing as a fundraiser for a children's charity a merchant has come forward to 11Alive News to say he too was taken.

Willie Thompson owns Marco's Pizza and said he recognized the female suspect profiled at 11pm on 11Alive News.

"I knew who she was immediately.  We gave her $100 dollars cash after she said she was raising money for the Children's Miracle Network and the Girls and Boys Clubs of Atlanta.  We  figured out later that it was a scam," Thompson said.

What Thompson did not know is how widespread the allegations are throughout Metro Atlanta.

Marsha Lynn Foster, age 47 of Decatur, was arrested Saturday by the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office at the request of Winder and Cartersville police detectives.  She has outstanding warrants from both cities for Identity Theft and Theft by Deception.

Police said that Foster would go into businesses in Barrow and Bartow counties claiming to be from Stars and Strikes, a family entertainment center in Dacula. She then would ask the businesses to donate money to Toys For Tots. Investigators said that Foster has no legitimate connection to either Stars and Strikes or Toys For Tots.

"I'm excited that she is behind bars and is not going to spend her Thanksgiving ripping people off," said Tara Friedman, owner of Stars and Strikes.

Detectives believe there may have been more businesses scammed by Foster and are urging owners to call their area law enforcement to report the crime.

In fact, Foster has a history of almost identical crimes.

11 Alive News has learned Foster has been in and out of jail for theft and forgery cases since 1993.

In 1997 Foster was arrested after approaching businesses saying she was raising money for the Children's Miracle Network.   She served two years in prison and while out on probation she was back at it again.

In 2002 Foster claimed to be raising money for the Avon's Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk.

As she headed to prison for five years, foster vowed in court that she was a changed person. Her victims back then were not convinced.

"This woman has not learned the lesson that you do not take money from people who really need it," said Trish Dooley of Children's Miracle Network.

As for Foster's latest alleged victims--they hope she goes away to jail for good this time.

"I can't believe she's been doing this since the 90's. She's  been in and out of jail and is still doing it in 2009?", questioned Thompson.
