Discussion:
Mostly cloudy skies, with a few isolated showers early today. We will catch a break early afternoon, but isolated showers and thunderstorms will return this afternoon. Highs will be in the mid 80s.
Right now we are looking at a 30 to 40% chance for the rain. That means it will not be as wide spread, but carry the umbrella with you in case you are hit by a shower.
A little less of a for rain Tuesday . Most areas will stay dry. There is only a 20% chance for an isolated shower. By afternoon, we don't see any rain on our future radar. Temperatures will be warm again with a high of 87°.
We are keeping an eye on a system that will be moving in from the northwest by midweek. As you see on Tuesday, the severe weather risk is higher to our north. For now the Storm Prediction Center has placed a Marginal Risk (level 1) threat over our far northwest counties.
We will watch this closely as a front moves closer Wednesday. Right now, the severe risk is low for us. We will let you know if any of the ingredients for severe weather will hold together by the time it makes it here.
You can see the up and down rain chances for the week ahead. We do expect drier weather Tuesday and much of the day Wednesday. The rain chances return Thursday, then drying out again into the weekend.
It will also be warm again for the first part of the week. Temperatures remain well above average through Thursday. Cooler air moves in for the end of the week and the weekend. Temperatures will return to slightly below average.
The trend also looks cooler beyond the 7 day outlook. The 8-14 day outlook shows that cooler air persisting through the Mother's Day weekend an into the beginning of next week.
